Chris Albrecht joined Coleman| Hines in October, 2008 as Director, Commodity Services– East Region for the deregulated electric and natural gas markets. In his current role, Chris is responsible for leading a team of market specialists in securing competitive electric and natural gas contracts for clients throughout the U.S. and Canada.
Chris has more than 34 years of diverse regulated and direct access experience in the energy industry. Chris’s background includes his career as an engineer in the Power Operations and Environmental Services departments for a large electric utility company. He advanced to the Corporate Planning department where he worked on capacity expansion plans, including the addition of the company’s first nuclear power plant, load forecasts and financial planning. Subsequently, Chris worked as a consultant for several firms primarily representing large industrial clients and cogeneration facilities throughout the United States. In that capacity, Chris testified as an expert witness in over 60 regulatory proceedings before 13 state public service commissions and also as a witness before numerous state legislative bodies and the House of Representatives subcommittee on energy. Chris also has 11 years of experience managing the supply-side of energy and a $100M energy budget for a large box retailer. It was there that he chaired several retail energy committees in support of direct access.
Chris received a Bachelor of Science and a Master of Science-Electrical Engineering degree from the University of Missouri – Columbia and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Missouri – St. Louis. Chris is a registered Professional Engineer.
